under shade is one of the most hard-hitting, dynamic, acoustic groove bands working, and their career is heating up with the release of their debut album. They have shared the stage with national artist such as Ozomatli, deSol, and Micheal Tolcher and are currently aired on more than 200 radio stations nation wide. under shade has spent more than 14 years perfecting the sound that would make up their full-length debut album, "Nightly Cricket Revival". Thats a long time, considering the band is comprised of four twenty-something musicians. In fact, Jason Cole (guitar, vocals) and Rob and Steve Dickey (bass and drums respectively) have made music together for most of their lives. It took the addition of Holland-born piano player Ruben van Pelt for under shade to solidify its uniquely distinctive sound. Cole and the Dickey brothers met at their high school in West Plains, Missouri, and began playing music together almost immediately.
